Barrierlist

Terms of service

What the service is

Barrierlist loads your storefront’s public page templates in a real browser, runs automated accessibility checks on them, and shows you what it found: the problem, the pages and elements it appears on, and what to change. On a paid plan it also checks again when your theme changes or on a schedule, tells you what is new, and assembles a dated record of that activity.

What the service is not

Automated checks find a subset of accessibility problems. They cannot find all of them, and no automated tool can. Nothing this app produces is a formal attestation, an audit opinion, or legal advice, and nothing in it says whether your shop meets a legal obligation. We find issues and document them; the judgement about your obligations is yours and your advisers’.

The app changes nothing on your storefront. It installs no widget, alters no theme code, and adds nothing your shoppers can see. Fixes are yours to make.

Your account

You need a Shopify store and the authority to install apps on it. You are responsible for what is done through your store’s admin.

How you may use it

Scan storefronts you own or are authorised to test. Do not use the app to scan someone else’s store without their permission, and do not try to use it as a load generator against any site.

Paying for it

Every plan is billed through Shopify. Shopify takes the payment, issues the invoice and applies its own terms; we never see or store your card. Prices are shown on the Plan screen and in the App Store listing.

The trial runs for 30 days and each store gets one, ever. It becomes a paid subscription at the end unless you cancel before then.

You can cancel at any time from the Plan screen. Cancellation takes effect immediately and Shopify prorates the current period. Uninstalling the app cancels the subscription too.

Prices can change. If they do, we tell you before the change reaches your store, and Shopify asks you to approve the new amount — nothing takes more money from you without your approval.

Your data

What we hold and for how long is set out in the privacy policy, and the short version is that we hold scans of public pages and delete them when you uninstall. Your scans and your notes are yours; you can export the whole record from inside the app at any time.

Availability

This is a small, independently operated service. We aim to keep it running and to fix faults quickly, and we do not promise a particular uptime figure. A scan can fail for reasons that have nothing to do with us — a storefront that will not load, a page that times out — and the app says so when it happens rather than pretending otherwise.

Support is one person answering support@barrierlist.com, normally within two working days. That is the honest commitment, not a marketing one.

Limits on what we owe you

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit or lost business, or for any claim brought against you by a third party about your store’s accessibility.

Where we are liable, our total liability for all claims in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in that period.

Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer rather than a business, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Ending it

You can uninstall at any time, from Shopify admin, without asking us. We can suspend or end an account that is being used to scan stores it has no permission to scan, or that is damaging the service for others; we say why when we do.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by Romanian law, and the courts of Romania have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in another European Union country, you keep the protections of your own country’s law.

Changes to these terms

We can change these terms. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect, and the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the app after that means accepting the new terms.
